Linja Palestynska poster created by Tadeusz Trepkowski in 1935 as a 101 x 70 cm. chromolithograph print showing a camel in front of two large ocean liners, "Polonia" and "Kociuszko."

Palestinian line - the operator of a GAL (Gdynia America Line, until 1934 under the name Polish Transatlantic Ship Society). Offering boat trips to Palestine SS / Polonia. The tour began in Gdynia, then covered the ports of Constanta-Istanbul-Jaffa-Haifa-Piraeus-Istanbul-Constanta and Gdynia. Once on board the Polonia could take 600 to 800 passengers, many times the number was up to 1000. Joined in the summer of 1935, to support the Palestinian Line ship SS / Kosciuszko, which took on board 712 passengers.

Palestinian line was open from September 1933 to 1936. The reason for suspending the operation of this route was the unstable situation in Palestine.

The purpose of Jewish emigration was not only Palestine, but also North America, Latin America (especially Argentina and Brazil) and countries of Europe. In the year 1937 Gdynia left more than 4,000 Jews, 4,865 to be exact. Most of the Danzig Jews were emigrating, but many were also from the depths of Polish, among others Grudziadz. {via sztetl.org.pl}
