September 30, 1927 - It was 87 years ago, during the eighth inning of the Yankees vs. Washington Senators, Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run.  He was quoted after the game saying "Sixty! Let's see some son of a bitch try to top that one."  His record for career home runs was set at 714 and not broken until 39 years later when Hank Aaron hit his 715th in 1974.
